These numbers can be tentative, but we need a ballpark idea so we can schedule each ensemble for the correct days. All numbers must be finalized by March 28th in order to allow the cafeteria time to order the appropriate amount of food.

The YCMEA Desert Band Festival is a collaborative festival in which beginning and intermediate bands from all over Yuma County rehearse together and put on a concert. 

Each group will receive music to rehearse prior to the event. After turning in your beginning and intermediate instrumentation you will be given a rehearsal schedule for both days.

The schedule will look like this example:

Rehearsal from 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Concert run-through from 4:00pm to 4:30pm
Guest Performance from 4:30-5:30pm
Dinner from 5:45-6:15pm
Concert at 6:30 pm

Yes! This is an all day event. Your beginning band will perform on one day and your intermediate band on the other.

Fees: $5.00 per student as well as a $25 fee per band director. This additional cost is to help cover music expenses.
$25.00 for any non-YCMEA member

Please label all equipment you bring (especially percussion) before May 8 and May 9.

Each director is responsible for transportation arrangements to the rehearsal site as well as chaperones for the day. Please plan to bring at least one chaperone per ensemble you have students participating in per day. 

Students/parents are responsible for transportation home after the concert.

Please inform your parents and administrators that this is an all day event!!
